예술 감상의 기회는 점점 더 다양해지고 있습니다. 설렘이 가득한 공항이라는 특별한 공간에서 열리는 《가까이, 더 가까이》 전시는 바다, 산, 하늘과 맞닿은 부산의 자연을 담은 예술 작품을 기술과 접목해 선보입니다.
부산의 바다와 하늘처럼 가까이에 있어 오히려 소중함을 느끼지 못했던 자연을, 작가들의 시선을 통해 새롭게 조명하며, 부산을 떠나는 공항에서 새로운 시각적 경험을 제공합니다. 김해국제공항을 찾는 다양한 방문객과 이용객들이 예술 작품과 기술이 결합된 전시 형식을 통해 일상 속에서 문화예술을 경험할 수 있도록 기획되었습니다.
국제선 2층에 들어서면, 정혜련 작가의 하늘을 유영하는 공간 드로잉 <US crack> 대형 작품을 만날 수 있습니다. ‘US’는 지구를 뜻하는 ‘earth’와 발음이 유사합니다. 이 작품은 현실의 ‘우리’를 닮은 존재들이 가상의 공간에서 펼쳐지는 세계를 상징하며, 과거와 현재, 시공간, 인간의 삶을 연결하려는 작가의 의도가 담겨 있습니다. 옆으로는 상환 작가의 <닿아있는 것들>이 이어집니다. 클레이를 소재로 반복적인 일상의 단상을 시각적으로 구조화한 이 작품은, 시간과 감정의 층위를 섬세하게 포착합니다.
국내선 2층에서는 정혜련, 상환, 강재원, 정진 작가의 작품들이 AR 기술과 결합된 인터랙티브 아트로 설치됩니다. 관람객은 작품 속으로 들어가 자유롭게 감상하고, 그 경험을 영상으로 기록해 간직할 수 있습니다.
이번 전시는 자연을 관찰하는 작가들의 시선을 통해 작품 감상의 새로운 방식을 제안합니다. 가까이에 있는 자연처럼, 가까이에서 즐길 수 있는 예술 전시가 되기를 바랍니다.
Opportunities to encounter art are becoming increasingly diverse. 《Closer to Nature, Closer to Art》, held in the unique setting of an airport, presents artworks inspired by the nature of Busan—its sea, mountains, and sky—combined with technology.
This exhibition draws renewed attention to the natural environment that surrounds us—like Busan’s ocean and sky, often taken for granted—by offering new perspectives through the eyes of artists. It provides visitors at Gimhae International Airport with a new visual experience through the fusion of art and technology.
Upon entering the second floor of the International Terminal, visitors are greeted by <US crack>, a large-scale spatial drawing by Hyeryun Jung. The title “US” echoes the sound of “earth,” and the work symbolizes beings resembling humanity unfolding within an imagined space—bridging past and present, time and place, and human experience. Nearby, Sang Hwan’s <Surroundings> transforms reflections on daily life into structured clay compositions that subtly capture layers of time and emotion.
On the second floor of the Domestic Terminal, works by Hyeryun Jung, Sang Hwan, Jaewon Kang, and Jung Jin are presented as interactive installations enhanced with AR technology. Visitors are invited to step into the works, explore freely, and even record their experiences on video.
This exhibition proposes new ways of engaging with art through the lens of artists who observe nature closely. We hope it brings art closer to you—just like the nature that has always been near.
정혜련 Hyeryun Jung

정혜련(b. 1977) 작가는 설치, 영상, 가상공간들을 매개로 활발한 창작활동을 선보이고 있는 작가이다. 주로 인간을 둘러싼 지역과 환경이 인간의 삶과 어떠한 유기적 관계를 맺는가에 대한 관심을 두고 물질적/비물질적 시각 작업을 진행해오고 있다. 하늘을 유영하는 공간 드로잉 작품은 과거와 현재 시공간, 인간의 삶을 연결시키려는 작가의 의도가 담겨 있다. 전통적인 선묘와 오방색의 현대적 해석이 접목된 작품이다.
Hyeryun Jung (b. 1977) is an artist actively working across installation, video, and virtual spaces. Her practice focuses on how local environments and contexts form organic relationships with human life, explored through both material and immaterial visual work. Her spatial drawings reflect her intention to connect past and present, different dimensions of time and space, and human existence. These works integrate traditional Korean line drawing and color with a contemporary interpretation.

상환(b.1991) 작가는 비정형의 덩어리로 이루어진 조각 작품과 간략한 선과 경쾌한 색감으로 그려내는 평면 작업을 통해 나, 그리고 주변 환경을 고스란히 담아낸다. 작가는 작가로서 삶을 살아간다는 것은 주변 환경과의 관계 속에서 존재함을 발견하는 동시에 확장되는 과정들을 담고 있다. 이번 전시를 통해 국제선에서는 조각 작품을 국내선에서는 AR이 결합된 평면 작품을 감상 할수 있다.
Sang Hwan (b. 1991) reflects his identity and surroundings through both sculpture and painting. His sculptures consist of irregular, organic forms, while his paintings are characterized by minimal lines and vivid colors. For Sang Hwan, an artist's life is a continual process of discovering and expanding the self through relationships with the environment. In this exhibition, viewers can encounter his sculptures in the International Terminal and his AR-enhanced paintings in the Domestic Terminal.

강재원(b.1989) 작가는 미래의 조각에 대해 관심을 가지고 있다. 3D 모델링을 기반으로 여러 매체를 통해 조각의 확장성을 탐구한다. 인플레이터블(벌룬)을 주요 매체로 사용하며 가상의 공간(환경) 속 조각, 영상 등 다양한 매체를 통해 선보이고 있다. 이번 전시에서 새롭게 선보이는 조각 작품을 AR을 접목한 기술을 통해 바다를 유영하는 조각의 탄생을 영상으로 감상할 수 있다.
Jaewon Kang (b. 1989) focuses on the concept of future sculpture. Through 3D modeling, he explores the expansion of sculptural form across diverse media. Primarily working with inflatable (balloon) structures, he also presents sculptures within virtual environments and videos. In this exhibition, his newly unveiled sculptural work is brought to life through AR-enhanced technology, allowing viewers to experience a video of the sculpture “swimming” through the sea.

정진(b.1984) 작가는 설화, 신화, 디즈니 만화와 같은 익숙한 이야기 속에서 인간 내면의 깊은 욕망과 불안을 읽어낸다. 작가의 작업은 이처럼 보편적인 이야기 구조를 차용하면서도, 그 이면에 감춰진 감정과 심리를 시각적으로 해석해내는 데 집중한다. 작가는 만화에서 자주 사용되는 시각적 장치 효과선, 말풍선 등을 회화적 언어로 변형하여 화면에 도입함으로써, 내러티브를 구성하는 동시에 그것을 교란한다. 이러한 전략은 관람자에게 단일한 이야기보다는 감정의 순간, 상징의 충돌, 의미의 다층성을 경험하게 한다.
Jung Jin (b. 1984) explores human desire and anxiety through familiar narratives—folklore, myth, and Disney movies. Adopting these universal structures, the artist interprets the underlying emotions and psychology within them. Reworking comic elements like motion lines and speech bubbles into painterly language, Jung Jin both constructs and disrupts narrative. Rather than presenting a single storyline, the works invite viewers to experience fleeting emotional states, symbolic clashes, and layered meanings.
